The 2012 film is based on the book "Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey" about Doug "The Hammer" Smith.
Seann William Scott is fantastic as the anti-Stifler, Doug Glatt who is based on the enforcer Smith. The film follows Glatt as he takes "an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey." The story is unbelievable and it is well supported by humor.
Liev Schreiber is good as Glatt's respectful rival. Jay Baruchel compliments the cast well as the comedic relief. Baruchel also co-wrote the screenplay.
